GRIT is an ICT cluster of the eight leading companies in the Rijeka-Kvarner region. These companies have joined resources and expertise to capitalize on their collective strengths in international and domestic markets. This cluster is in partnership with the University of Rijeka; on a human resources development program and other joint commercial projects. This initiative is supported by GTZ, USAID and Porin, the Regional Development Agency of Primorsko-Goranska County. GRIT is a member of BEAM ICT Alliance.
MIT Cluster was established in 2007 by eleven ICT companies. MIT Cluster is covering large field of activites such as software developing, web programming, selling informatics equipment and so one. Their goal is to promote, develop and improve information and communications technologies for informatics companies in Međimurje as well as intercession for maintenance international technologies and knowledge.
Dalmatian IT-specific cluster – DISC was founded in 2007, when a number of IT companies joined in this effort, all based in the Croatian region of Dalmatia. The co-founders include Enel Group, Gideon Multimedia, IT Sistemi and Lama. The aim of this cluster is to promote and develop further the ICT products and services, and also to protect the local technology, knowledge, products and services from this sector of trade.
Business incubator BIOS together with eight IT companies established IKS Cluster. IKS Cluster has 120 employees out of which 90 of them are IT experts. The reason for establishing cluster lies in the following: organization of workshops and seminars which are custom made for IT companies and their managers, joint marketing and participations at the fairs, as well as the negotiation strength and business contacts.
Members of cluster are applying following technologies: IBM, Microsoft, Oracle, SAP, Cisco, HP.
Razvojna agencija Sjever (DAN) osnovala je ICT cluster Varaždin s ciljem povećanja konkurentnosti domaćih proizvođača softvera, povezivanja gospodarstva sa znanstveno-istraživačkim institucijama te pripremama za apliciranje projekata iz ove domene na europske fondove.Ovaj klaster putem svojih osnivača pokriva kompletan tehnološki proces razvoja informacijskih sustava te nije direktno usmjeren niti na jedno područje aktualnih tehnologija. Klaster se sastoji od informatičkih poduzeća različitih veličina, Fakulteta organizacije i informatike i Tehnološkog parka iz Varaždina.
Initium is non-profit organization. Their goal is promotion of startup companies and the individual projects based on information and communications technologies in Croatia and in the rest of the region. Activities for accomplishment those tasks, including conference Web.Start is organized by Initium.
The Institute for Informatical Innovation is a research and development institution aiming to further the study and increase the utilisation of informatical systems. Key areas of study and development are telecommunications, mobile systems, networking systems, multimedia systems, intelligent systems, complex algorithms (such as security or compression) and personal/social computing. The Institute will mostly focus on short to medium term near-market research that can be utilised by industry to generate returns in a 2-5 year timeframe.
